Before and After by DuchessDL Before and After by DuchessDL
The before was done maybe in like 3rd or 4th grade... I have always been drawing, but I just never really TRIED at it, y'know? I just did it when I was bored...

I know the after is all that great either; but it was a doodle that I decided to do because there was room on the paper. This is in a notebook that I had when I was in elementary school.

The eyebrows on before just look hilarious!! I have no idea how I ever liked how that looked XD

Ha! Thanks, Pup!!! I kind of posted this as a joke. And I plan to be a bit more active, but with the moving and all, that might be slowed a bit.

Well, to answer your question, I have honestly been trying to draw anime ever since I could draw. I just could not get the hang of what made anime style the way it is. I thought it was how the mouth was drawn at first (WEIRD, RIGHT??????) Then I thought it was how their heads were shaped (I started drawing people with weird pentagon heads because I was trying to copy Inuyasha style). Then over time I finally realized what it was!!!! I was applying too much Western cartoon style, like the eyes weren't anime at all, the hair was looked like pudding, and everything else was just too cartooney.

I also had switched back to just drawing a circle for the head (very very bad idea).

Sorry for the drawn out answer. To summarize (if you don't feel like reading it  all), I basically started drawing when I was 4, and I have beenwanting to draw legit anime style when iI have in like 4th or 5th grade. Am of my brothers have had an anime drawing phase, but they never really followed through. I am the only one who has stuck to art at all...

Jeez Ihave to stop typing before I accidentally write you a trilogy.

Looking back at my old art makes me feel better about the present, am I right???
Thank you though!!! I remember seeing that one thing you posted to show your improvement over the years (I don't remember if I commented or not, I think I just favourited it...) and I gotta say I was really impressed!! I wish I could do that, but I usually throw away drawings I don't like anymore...
